PRIMEA project: Study visit in France for a Tunisian delegation to discuss the future partnership

After the visit of a team of experts from ADECIA toTunisia, it was the turn of our Tunisian colleagues to visit France for a study visit on the theme of support for agricultural investments.

This visit comes in the framework of the launch of a multi-year cooperation, the object of which will be the support of the Tunisian authorities in the renovation of their own support system for farmers who wish to modernize: the PRIMEA program, supported by the French Development Agency (AFD).

Representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture, Water Resources and Fisheries of Tunisia (MARHP), the Ministry of Investment Development and International Cooperation (MDICI) and the Agricultural Investment Promotion Agency (APIA) were able to meet colleagues from the MAA, the ASP or FranceAgriMer intervening on the PCAE’s help or young farmers, in particular.

A trip to Brittany also allowed them to meet the Regional Council of Brittany, managing authority of the EAFRD, as well as DRAAF Bretagne, to discuss the decentralized implementation of these devices.

The Brittany Chamber of Agriculture had also organized a visit to a recently installed JA in cattle production, to show them the role of professional partners in the construction of aid devices.

What’s next? An agreement between MAA and MARHP should be signed soon, for a new partnership that will continue the history of the many exchanges between France and Tunisia on agricultural development.
