In June 2015, as part of the Peace Agreements, the French and Colombian Ministries of Agriculture signed an Agricultural Action Plan including a “Modernization of Agricultural Training” component. ADECIA was commissioned to implement this support project focused on the SENA (National Learning Education Service), the main beneficiary of the cooperation project from June 2016 to March 2018.
This partnership involved for France: the Ministry of Agriculture and Food French (MAA) through the Directorate General of Education and Research (DGER), and for the Colombian side, the Presidential Agency of Cooperation (APC), the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MADR), SENA and the Colombian Ministry of Education.
The 18 months period of the project allowed a real exchange between peers and highlighted the complementarities of the two training systems. The technical cooperation was organized around four SENA training sessions for trainers on key topics and a comparative analysis of training and benchmarks in order to promote student mobility between the two countries. On March 6, during the closing seminar in Bogota, the partners presented the results of the project and identified the possible prospects for the continuation of this cooperation. These reflections were supported by a field trip in the Meta department with the visit of a SENA center, as well as a general and technical training center attached to the Colombian Ministry of Education (the IRACA center) in which the mission was able to participate in the second territorial meeting of rural education within the framework of the Peace Agreements.
